After a great week of fishing and great Turkey Day, Chris, his dad and I hit the inlet around 730am with a strong breeze our of the SE. I figured there was no chance of getting out the inlet but the Calabrese's were determined to catch some monster fish and wanted to brave it. I knew it was safe enough for us to go out but knew we were all going to need iron stomachs! We tried to catch live bait but the waves were to dangerous to get near the jetties so we gave up and started drifting the same spot where i caught the sail a few days earlier. Mr C landed a King to get the skunk off the boat and then he landed a yellowtail to seal up dinner! Then a huge ship was getting towed right in line with our drift pattern so we had to go out to 175' and we hit a small school of Dolphin. We all had one hooked and the battles began. Between the sail and the mahi, this was a great week of fishing. Glad to be back out on the water!!

After searching for fellow anglers and failing I hit the waters around 730am by myself. Loaded up on Ballyhoo and Blue Runners again. Headed SE out the inlet to a favorite spot in 100'. Within minutes of having the lines in the water the blue runner gets hit by a Sailfish but I lost it. After cursing and yelling the live ballyhoo i had out got nailed by the Sail and this time he was not getting away! After a 30 minute fight I got him in the boat for a quick picture. After I got over the excitement I went back for more but couldn't keep the bonito off the line so headed in to get ready for the Shrimp Gobbler Party!

Finally took a vacation from work and decided to hit the water. Shawn and I went out thinking we were not going to get off shore however mother nature relaxed and allowed us to get out the inlet in relatively calm conditions. We loaded up on ballyhoo and blue runners but could not get any hits. It was Shawn's first trip and he saved us from being skunked by landed a small grunt on a jig. After a two month hiatus I cannot complain. It was good just being out on the water!

11/12/2010 Lake Worth Spillway Report
Chris and I hit the ICW and the spillway after work and were shocked by the amount of activity but the lack of a bite. We threw every lure known to man at them but nothing to show for it other than a Sea Slug. Felt good to get back out fishing after a the long delay! Hopefully will get out Thanksgiving week since i have all week off!
